Services: We usually have one or two seasoned winning show horses for sale. We also offer cooled, fresh semen collected at our farm and can ship anywhere in Canada and the USA. Other countries depend on quarantine and quantity required. We can also collect outside stallions thanks to our on-site lab and tease mare. We can package and ship to your destination or it can be readied in a twelve hour box for you to transport to the waiting mare. Also offered at Cadillac Ranch is equine massage therapy as Anne Bonneville is a certified equine massage therapist. Please call so we can inform you about what we can do for your horses. Training Philosophy: The horses we breed/raise are trained on our farm. Our daughter Melissa alongside respected horseman Brock McCauley have put many hours into the Cadillac Ranch horses. The horses we offer for sale have been started with a solid foundation, with a point of reference of what's right and what's expected of them. The program we use is very simple; a good performance gives the horse a good life, a bad performance just brings on more work. It doesn't take long before our horses sponge-in what they are to do and because the program is so positive they quickly become very confident in getting their job done. Horses like Awesome Valentine, Intimidator N Paradise and Smokin Weedo have been trained, seasoned and conditioned to have secure, sound minds that just want to go and do their jobs. They are show horses that go out to win at the National level. Breeding: We select World Champion bloodlines in both Appaloosa or Quarter Horse. Before we settle on a stallion to cross our mares on, we study and research every aspect of him. A World Champion title on a horse that had to be bullied into it is definitely not what we want. We search out talent with a trainable mind. You can have beauty and talent but if the horse is a nightmare to train, it's a waste of everyone's time and money.
History: In the mid 1940's my father owned an Appaloosa gelding by the name of Chico. He won many pleasure and trail classes at the local fairs. In those days you rode your horse to the show, showed him and then rode home. My father sold Chico in order to buy a car to impress my mother prior to asking her to marry him. Turned out she would have rather had the Appaloosa. It took until 1965 to replace that gelding. They drove down to Michigan and bought a black daughter of Handprints Little Red Finale and since that time my family has always owned Appaloosas. In 1975 we bought Princess Jaime; a leopard mare by Prince's Jim from Sheldak Ranch. I showed this mare to many halter championships including a Superior in Halter. Princess Jaime is the dam of Intimidating Kate who is sired by The Intimidator (AQHA). Intimidating Kate is the dam of Intimidator N Paradise, sired by Zip N To Paradise. Over the years we have bred and raised many Champion Halter and Performance horses and can happily say that we have sold throughout Canada, the US and Europe. Currently, our daughter Melissa is training our horse and has taken them on to wins in various events. She shows them in Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunter In Hand and Western Pleasure. Melissa has won many Futurities, Regional High-Points and is a 2007 World Champion and Bronze Medallion winner.
