2002 Brown Blanketed Stallion

2007 WORLD CHAMPION NOVICE NON-PRO WESTERN PLEASURE
8TH JR. WESTERN PLEASURE

2006, 2007, 2008 JUNIOR, LADIES, SENIOR & NON-PRO CHAMPION WESTERN PLEASURE HORSE OF ONTARIO
ROM'S in JR. WESTERN PLEASURE & NON-PRO WESTERN PLEASURE

An extraordinary young stallion, who gave his heart to his trainer and rider Melissa Aceto. Miles gave her 200% every time she showed him. When Melissa first began to show Miles, she was a youth. Realistically it would have been more politically correct for Miles to have had a well-known male trainer at the helm, especially with the gender discrimination that occurs in every Appaloosa pleasure class with the exception of Ladies & Mens.

So, here's our story:
Going back to when Miles was a 2 year old, a very bad decision on our part put Miles in a dangerous situation. It wasnt until his four year old year that Miles finally began to overcome his fears. He shouldn't have been able to lope a stride in a show ring again... but he did!

In 2006 with Melissa as his partner, they won High Point Junior & Ladies Western Pleasure of Ontario. The next year at the US National show they earned a 6th place in Novice Non-Pro Western Pleasure. Miles was different now as he had developed a style of his own and a confident air was about him as he and his young female rider slugged it out in open classes in New York and Michigan, placing in the top 4 regularly.

By the time of the 2007 World Show, Melissa and Miles were ready. Meliss and her coach and mentor, Brock McCauley worked long hours with Miles, training him to be flawless and indeed he was. It was a great show for the pair.

Melissa and Miles walked into the ring like they owned it, putting forth perfect transitions with style and beautiful movement. Miles went through the entire class with his ears forward. The pair won the World title in Novice Non-Pro Western Pleasure and later placed 8th in Jr. Western Pleasure.

I can remember one evening while having a conversation with Brock when I asked him how he would rank Miles as a stallion. He said, "well, you have the perfect pleasure horse conformation, lots of Appaloosa colour and a horse with loads of talent with beautiful movement. On top of that, Miles has a mind that has overcome, is quiet, very smart and pleasantly kind.". Brock went on to say, "you might find another horse like Miles, or maybe not. But one sure fire way is to breed him to your best mare and I'll be he'll some some little Miles, just like him!".
